Cree Summer Francks (born July 7, 1969) is a Canadian-American actress, director, producer, writer, singer, composer, cinematographer, voice artist, and comedienne. She was the voice of Penny in the first season of Inspector Gadget, and so established her career as a voice actress. However, she was unable to reprise the role of Penny in the second season and was replaced by Holly Berger. She later reprised her role for the cutscenes in Inspector Gadget: Gadget's Greatest Gadgets. She also reprised her role in one episode of Robot Chicken.
In the Nostalgia Critic's review of Inspector Gadget Saves Christmas, she returns at the end as Penny with an evil monologue about what really happened in the series.
