Dr. Stench is a character in Inspector Gadget. He invented a substance that makes gold stink.
History[]
Stench broke into the Metro City Gold reserve to test out his stinking formula, assisted by M.A.D. Agents Squirt and Fred. Stench disabled the alarm from outside, and the trio entered the vault. They began to spray all the gold with a special substance invented by Stench, which made the gold turn green and give off an offending odor. The two agents were told to wear special masks to shield them from the stink, but Stench himself did not need any protection. Then they left, leaving all the worthless gold behind. Later, Stench visited Dr. Claw himself at his castle hideout to discuss the next phase of their plan: doing the same to the gold held at Fort Brix, and taking care of Inspector Gadget at the same time. Stench promised Claw that by tomorrow morning, all the gold would smell unbearable and Gadget would be finished.
That night, Stench and his M.A.D. henchmen broke into Brix by using an oversized catapult to fire the smaller agent, Squirt through the wall, then climbing in through an air duct. Stench warned his underlings to be careful, for Gadget may be inside the vault, and indeed he was. Having mistakingly inflated his Gadget Coat while sneezing, Gadget heard Dr. Stench name and title and asked him if he could help him get rid of his cold. Stench told the Inspector he had to make an appointment, angrily adding that he was busy. When Gadget asked what a doctor was doing inside a gold vault, Stench replied he was disinfecting the gold, of course. Meanwhile, the two other agents began to spray the gold with Stench's formula.
Stench promised Gadget he could arrange it so he would never have a cold again. He told the Inspector to sit down and stick his feet in a bowl of water. He then added quick-drying cement to the bowl, leading Gadget to get stuck in place, and then pushed a device that slowly lowered a stack of gold on top of Gadget. Gadget began to sneeze louder and louder, eventually propelling himself against a wall, clear out of the way of the gold lowering down. He managed to break free from the cement around his feet at the same time. He was soon released from the vault by two guards outside, after his niece Penny made the alarm go off using her computer book
The next day, the smelly gold was being transported to a base in the mountains by train, in order for scientists to remove the train. Claw informed Stench that the train was coming his way, just as planned. From a vantage point on top of a bridge, Stench, Squirt and Fred jumped onto the moving train, and began to knock out all the guards using a spray can filled with sleeping gas. When Gadget recognized 'the doctor', he asked him for another cure, and Stench played along, saying he would get his medical bag. He told Squirt and Fred to go detoxify the gold while he took care of Gadget. He disconnected the back of the train, on top of which Gadget was sitting, and settled in the control cabin, where he informed Claw that there had been a slight delay, but now Gadget was out of their way for good. This pleased Claw, who told Stench that the trucks would be waiting at the transfer point.
Arriving at the transfer point, Stench halted the train, only to be surprised by Gadget, who had somehow managed to get back on track (with a little help from Penny). Stench noticed that Gadget's Gadget Cuffs deployed by accident, owing to another sneeze, and quickly cuffed the Inspector to the control panel of the train. Stench exited the cabin and set some explosives outside, then took a seat behind the wheel of one of the large trucks that had already been filled with the now oderless gold by his two compatriots. He told the others to start the convoy after the train's locomotive exploded, unaware that yet another sneeze had saved Gadget's life.
Gadget dropped from the air onto the truck Stench was driving, and once more asked him for a cure for his cold. Stench tried to spray him, but Gadget somehow evaded it. Stench thought he got rid of Gadget when the Inspector fell off the truck, but he soon returned, using his Gadget 'Copter. Stench tried to run Gadget over, but the Inspector inflated his coat and used his extending Gadget Arms to grab onto the final truck in the convoy and hitch a ride. Noticing that, Stench told the other drivers to pass him, so he could fall back and end up behind Gadget. But Gadget got his foot magnets stuck to the front of Stench's truck, after the other two trucks had already locked bumpers by accident. Then Penny used her computer book to take control of the lead truck and redirect it back to Fort Brix, where Chief Quimby and his men were waiting to arrest the agents of M.A.D. [1]

Stench is a brilliant mad scientist, but he has a very short-temper.

Stench is a middle-aged bald man with a long nose, and wild streaks of grey hair. He wears a white lab coat over a yellow turtleneck shirt, dark green pants, brown shoes and tan gloves.
