Fang the Wonder Dog is a character in Inspector Gadget. He only appeared in the episode of the same name.
Routine[]
Fang the Wonder Dog was a canine movie star whose fame had made him worth millions. Dr. Claw sent two of his agents, Bruce and Lenny to kidnap the dog and hold him to ransom. They attempted to grab him when Fang was performing a stunt in which he jumped out of the window of a burning building. Fang was too fast for them, but director Miles Millions noticed one of the agents and decided not to take any chances and protect Fang with every means possible. When Inspector Gadget arrived on the set to protect Fang, the famous dog gave a paw print to a fan, Brain posing as a tourist. Millions was about to shoot a scene in which Fang ran down the alley, jumped onto a parked van and into the back of a parked truck. Nobody realized that Bruce and Lenny were hiding in the back of the truck. They used a net to catch Fang, knocked him out with sleeping gas, and drove off.
Fang was initially strapped to a bed in a nearby Ghost Town set while the two agents played cards. Then Bruce left to take care of Gadget and Lenny was told to move Fang to the burning city set instead. Lenny put Fang in a duffel bag for the trip to the other set. On their arrival, he found Fang had woken up and was growling at him. But Lenny used sleeping gas to knock the dog out again. When this situation repeated itself, Lenny found his can of gas empty and fled to get a hazmat suit and a flamethrower. Meanwhile, Fang befriended Inspector Gadget's niece Penny, who had traced him by a tracker that Brain had put on Fang's collar earlier. When Lenny returned, he accidentally set fire to the wooden building. Fang and Penny had to jump out of a window into a pool below in order to escape. Instead of using the window, Fang ran up to the roof instead. There he found himself cornered by Lenny and Bruce, both wearing flame resisting outfits and carrying nets.
On the ground, Miles Millions noticed Fang on the roof and told him to jump. Fang did so, and received loving compliments from his director. The two agents also fell into the pool, and were swiftly arrested by Chief Quimby and his men.
Personality[]
Fang is a friendly dog. He once had a fear of jumping from great heights, but he conquers his fear. He dislikes anyone threatening him, especially Lenny when he failed to gas him for the third time after his spray can run out.
