Gadget Lasso (DiC)

The Gadget Lasso, sometimes called the Gadget Lasso Necktie, was worn wears by Inspector Gadget around his neck and could extend to be used as a lasso or rope.

Season 1 (1983 series)

• The Ruby:
  • Stuck in a prison cell in India, Gadget extended his lasso through the prison bars and attached it around the neck of a nearby elephant, then told it to go. The Elephant began to move forward, pulling Gadget out of the prison window, taking the bars and a piece of the wall along.
• Movie Set:
  • Infatuated by Lana Lamour, Gadget's lasso extended by itself and formed the shape of a heart while he was seated in the comfy chair that extended from the Gadget Van.
• M.A.D. Trap (as Gadget Tie):
  • Gadget activates his Gadget Tie to reach up and grab onto a pipe hanging from the factory ceiling to avoid a cauldron of molten lava being poured onto him. The tie then pulls Gadget safely out of danger in the nick of time.
• Gadget Goes West:
  • Gadget shows off his lasso skills at a grocery store while talking about his Great-Uncle Buffalo Bob Gadget. He accidentally ropes a strong man carrying two bags of groceries and pulls him towards him.
• The Coo Coo Clock Caper (malfunction):
  • Gadget's tie was one of several gadgets which malfunctioned and went haywire when the clock struck two while investigating the gold theft in the Swiss alps.
• The Bermuda Triangle:
  • Thinking he was facing playful dolphins, Gadget used his Necktie to subdue two sharks in a basin and have them pull him through the water until they were tired out.
• The Great Divide (malfunction):
  • While falling from a great height, Inspector Gadget gave the command for his Gadget Coat, but the Lasso was activated instead. Brain, disguised as a bear, managed to save his master's life by grabbing on to the lasso as Gadget fell past him, so that the Inspector remained suspended above the ground when he reached the end of his rope.
• Eye of the Dragon:
  • Gadget used his Gadget Lasso in an attempt to grab a fleeing suspect (Brain in disguise as "Arnie Chow"), but caught a string of stolen pearls instead.
• Pirate Island:
  • Gadget accidentally got his lasso tie snagged to a motorcycle being driven by Pegleg Peg on Pirate island. His Gadget Skis were activated at the same time, leading to him being dragged behind the vehicle.
• M.A.D. Academy:
  • When Gadget mistook a normal school for M.A.D. Academy, he first used one of his Gadget Arms to apprehend a science teacher, then deployed his Gadget Lasso to arrest the gym teacher, who went to the principal's office, pulling Gadget along after him on his Gadget Skates.
• Old Man of the Mountain (malfunction):
  • After swallowing a spoonful of magic goat's milk, several of Gadget's gadgets go haywire, including his lasso, his Gadget 'Copter, Gadget Arms and Gadget Legs.
• Follow That Jet:
  • Gadget simultaneously deployed his Gadget Domelight and his Gadget Skates after General Crazy told him to "Follow that jet!". He then called for his Gadget Lasso, and roped the tail end of the jet, but was pulled into the air, with his domelight still activated. However, the lasso snapped, and Gadget fell to the ground, but ended up stuck in a windsock.
• Quimby Exchange:
  • Gadget used his Gadget Lasso to grab Nervous Nick DeFecto when he tried to run away from him out of fear of getting hurt. He pulled DeFecto towards him with such force, that Nick flew through the air and hit an old plank, knocking him out.
• Tree Guesses:
  • Having fallen through the wooden floor of a Canadian cottage, Gadget used his lasso to pull himself out from under the log cabin to a nearby well.
• School for Pickpockets:
  • Gadget activated his Lasso while trying to nab two suspects carrying large carnival masks. He grabbed the mask they were carrying instead and pulled it towards him. The mask ended up covering half his body. But after removing it, he used the lasso to tie the two men up, but accidentally froze himself using his new Gadget Watch. Gadget was promptly taken away by two orderlies to an asylum, and the two innocent suspects were somehow released from the lasso.

Season 2 (1983 series)

• Gadget's Roma:
  • While being chased by a lion in the Roman Colosseum, Gadget intended to use his lasso necktie to help his ancestor, Gadgetorum, but a lion chasing Gadget grabbed the lasso instead and stopped the Inspector in his tracks.
• Gadget's Clean Sweep:
  • In Nineteenth Century London, Gadget employed his Lasso to save Percy from drowning. However, when he called for a "Gadget Tower", his Gadget Mallet employed by mistake and hit both Percy and his accomplice on their heads.
• Gadget and the Red Rose:
  • Gadget used his Lasso Necktie to grab a suspicious rose bush (Brain in disguise) he and Capeman were pursuing through the sewers.

Inspector Gadget Saves Christmas

• Gadget uses his Lasso necktie to tie up Santa Claus, whom he believes to be an imposter together with Brain, whom he thinks is Santa's accomplice. The tie then automatically detaches from his neck so he can leave while the two suspects remain in place, all tied up. After some struggling, they manage to free themselves from the lasso.
