Inspector Gadget Wiki
Respirator close-up

The Gadget Respirator is a self-contained breathing mask and the only gadget that Gadget has to physically reach for and pull on after saying his "Go-Go-Gadget" command for it. The mask attached to the breathing apparatus covers Gadget's entire face, while the breathing tubes reach out of the top of his hat to both sides of his face.

History[]

Inspector Gadget used his Gadget Respirator after being pushed into the hold of an oil tanker. He also activated his Gadget Magnets on his feet to climb up the wall and his Gadget Screwdriver to open the top hatch from the inside. When he emerged out of tank number five, completely covered in oil and with the dark gray respirator covering his face, the ship's crew was panicking because they had just entered the Bermuda Triangle and the entire vehicle was being swallowed up by a giant M.A.D. submarine made up to look like an alien ship. Most of the crew failed to notice Gadget, but he assumed they didn't recognize him because the oil and the respirator made him look like a famous science fiction villain. He took the mask off to reveal his blackened face, only for the hatch of tank number five to fall back on his head and, hitting his fingers.

After completing the mission, Gadget wore his respirator while using a spray can on his Gadget Van in order to protect his eyes and avoid of the fumes. When Brain saw him working like this, the dog was briefly startled, having just had an adventure that involved M.A.D. Agents posing as aliens. Gadget proceeded to explain to Brain and Penny how he was using the respirator for safety, and then accidentally pointed the nozzle of his spray can the wrong way, spraying red paint all over his respirator and part of his clothes.[1]

Gadget activated his "Gadget Mask" when he thought he had ended up in the smoking section at La Scampi Opera House. He then used his laser finger to cut a Gadget-sized hole in the wall and deactivated the Respirator as soon as he exited the room.[2]

Gadget called upon his "Gadget Gas Mask" when trying to catch two Ghost Globules at a costume party. He used it in combination with his Gadget Skates and a gun he found on the ground that fired rented cooking oil.[3]
