Greg Duffell was born in 1955 in Toronto, Canada. He is known for his work as a cartoon animator, director, producer and writer and also performed voices on the first season of Inspector Gadget. In the 2017 book Totally Awesome: The Greatest Cartoons of the Eighties, Duffell reveals that he was originally hired as a writer on the show, but through a strange twist of fate, ended up doing voice work on 64 episodes of the first season. He also tested for the voice of Inspector Gadget, and says he would have gotten it had Don Adams not agreed to sign on for the series beyond the pilot.
He made his voice acting debut in Nelvana's feature film Rock & Rule, which also featured the voices of Don Francks, Dan Hennessey and Melleny Melody. His other voice work includes various television commercials, including the voice of Robin the Boy Wonder and the Riddler in a Zellers commercial. His career included work for Richard Williams, Chuck Jones, Nelvana, Rick Reinert, Dino Kotopoulis, the National Film Board of Canada and his own company Lightbox Studios Inc.
