Labella is a character in Inspector Gadget. She is a M.A.D. Agent on assignment in Pianostan. She was voiced by either Jeri Craden or Melleny Melody.
Routine[]
Labella had already worked her way up to be a trusted confidant and favorite of King Wrong before Inspector Gadget arrived in Pianostan. Labella managed to make the King laugh by tickling his feet with a feather. The King expressed his happiness, despite this being a death sentence for him by Pianostani law. Thanks to Labella, the King began to doubt his routine and decided he would much rather be happy than sad all the time. His people, howerever, did not agree and began to to boo their ruler and throw tomatoes at posters of his face.
The King was completely under her spell. When Laballa blew him a kiss, he became so joyful he could practically float on air. When she proposed to play a game of hide and seek in the royal winesellar, the King agreed enthusiastically. But Labella locked him in a dungeon and ordered two of her men to keep guard. She then reported to Dr. Claw by videophone, saying she was ready to deal with Gadget, who was scheduled to arrive the next day. The Inpector literally dropped into the palace sooner than expected, using his Gadget 'Copter after exiting his plane prematurely. He slid down a long banquet hall and bumped into Labella, who ended up covered by a portrait of the King. When Gadget saw Labella's face, he fell for her charmes almost as quickly as King Wrong had before him.
Labella told Gadget he had to dress properly in order to meet the King. She gave him clothing that made him look even more like King Wrong, then took him to the balcony to parade him in front of the people of Pianostan. The public were immediately fooled into believing Gadget was their ruler. When Gadget was hit in the face by a tomato, his Gadget Mallet accidentally deployed and knocked Labella on the head. Gadget failed to notice this, and was taken away by the two guards almost immediately.
Gadget was thrown into the jail next to the King, but mistook it for a waiting room. Unknown to Labella or the guards, he changed places with King Wrong. Labella contacted Dr. Claw again, who was on his way to Pianostan himself. When the boiling oil was prepared and ready, Claw told Labella to retrieve Gadget. She ordered her guards to fetch the inspector from the dungeon, but they brought King Wrong to her instead. Claw, present via a video link, realized their mistake first and ordered the guards to bring him Gadget. But the Inspector had been freed by Brain, dressed as a merchant. Using an intercom, Labella threatened to boil the two guards in oil if they didn't find Gadget for her. While the guards looked for the Inspector in the local market, Labella took a limousine to the streets. Gadget fell right into her car (entering through the sunroof) and asked to be taken to the king. She gladly brought him back to the palace just as the boiling oil ceremony was about to begin.
Gadget was encouraged to take a seat on the king's throne, with the pot of boiling oil about to be emptied on top of it. But once again Brain came to the rescue and made sure the Inspector rose from his seat just in time. With her plans foiled, Labella left the palace, intending to use the limo to flee. Before doing so, she blew one last kiss to King Wrong, who had taken his rightful place on the palace balcony, having been freed by Gadget's niece Penny. Labella's parting words were "Sorry, darling. Another time". Her exit made the King feel sad. Gadget tried to cheer the King up by giving him a tie with a sexy skateboarding woman on it, but the image reminded King Wrong of his sweet Labella and made him even more miserable.
