Routine[]
He was an opera singer in Italy and one of Dr. Claw's agents.
Physical Description[]
Luciano is a well-built Italian man with brown hair and beard, and a long pencil moustache. He wears white opera clothing in his scene with Dr. Claw and wears an Italian clown outfit during his performance. He speaks in a deep Italian voice.
Personality[]
Luciano is a devious and sneaky M.A.D. agent, but he has a sensitive side when he breaks down crying after accidentally destroying his music plant.
History[]
Luciano performed as an opera singer at the La Scampi Opera House. He also served as a M.A.D. Agent in an attempt to steal the Golden Pizza located in the palace of the Pizza King next to the Opera House. Luciano had obtained a unique plant which, when exposed to light, began to sing at such a high pitch that it could melt the hardest metal. Luciano successfully tested the plant in Claw's hideout to prove that he could melt the Pizza King's vaults during a matinée performance.
He was set to perform with opera singer Carlotta under the direction of the nervous director Piccolino. Wearing a Pagliacci outfit complete with a mask, Luciano came equipped with a wind-up rodent to scare Carlotta and make her even louder than usual. He slipped the fake rat into the back of her dress at the time his plant was about to sing. The performance was interrupted by Inspector Gadget, who found himself propelled onto the stage and began improvising a song on the spot. Luciano told fellow M.A.D. Agents Pops and Dick that he would keep Gadget center stage, so they could drop a weight on Gadget's head. But thanks to Brain's interference, the weight hit Luciano in the face instead, knocking his mask upside down. Then Brain landed on top of Luciano, knocking him to the ground, while Gadget skated in circles around them.
Having recovered somewhat, Luciano was about to grab Brain when Pops and Dick let loose another weight, and Luciano found his legs had been tangled up in the rope attached to this weight, causing him to be pulled up into the rafters. He told Pops and Dick to get Gadget off the stage before the singing plant was discovered. The two of them caused a grand piano to fall from the rafters onto the stage, but this time Brain activated a turntable in the stage floor to ensure the safety of both Gadget and Carlotta. Luciano was not amused, and told them to get to the control room and protect the plant. Still hanging in the rafters, Luciano caused a large rolled up carpet to drop. Carlotta bounced upwards and grabbed Luciano's hand. But their combined weight caused the rope around his legs to loosen, and both plummeted down. Their fall was broken by Gadget, who had inflated his Gadget Coat.
Luciano ended up on the stage, while Carlotta found herself swinging from a rope. Gadget was gracious enough to help Carlotta down, but tripped and threw her in the air while doing so. She landed on top of Luciano, who crashed through the floor onto his own singing plant, crushing it. Dismayed, Luciano realized he would never find another one quite like it. He soon joined Pops and Dick in a police van, still crying about the loss of his plant.
Gadget Goofs[]
- Animation error: When Luciano tells Pops and Dick he will keep Gadget center stage, the top of his orange mask is flesh coloured for a couple of frames.
- Continuity: When a crying Luciano carries his wilted plant into the police van, he is bare headed in his close-up, but wears a pointed hat in the wide shot that follows.
