Inspector Gadget Wiki

Gadget Stub "Inspector Gadget is always on duty!"

The M.A.D. Deck Hand is one of Claw's field agents in Inspector Gadget. He had a pegleg, a large blond moustache and sported a tattoo of an anchor on his left arm, which he prefered to leave uncovered, unlike his right, which featured a heart shaped patch on his sleeve that included the M.A.D. logo.

History[]

The M.A.D. Deck Hand was part of a crew a boat chartered by Inspector Gadget to go to the Bermunda Triangle. All the equipment that Gadget had ordered to be brought aboard had already arrived, and the Deck Hand was begrudgingly looking at it spread out all over the pier when Gadget arrived. Gadget ordered the Deck Hand to load the objects, which included a water peddler, a portable TV set and a large blow up animal aboard, then set sail, or as Gadget mistakingly called it, "Drop anchor".

Gadget took control of the small vehicle, while the Deck Hand went into his cabin where he used a large communication device to contact Dr. Claw to tell him they were approaching the Bermuda Triangle. Claw told his agent to make sure Gadget disappeared. After breaking contact, the deck hand noticed a little girl snooping on him, and followed her. Realizing the girl was hiding in a little pink police sub that was part of the boat's equipment, he simply released the sub into the water, leaving her behind. He then lit up some dynamite, set the timer and deposited it under Inspector Gadget's chair. With just enough time to escape, he inflated a rubber lifeboat with the M.A.D. logo at it's front and used the oars to row away. He did not realize the dynamite was thrown into his lifeboat by Gadget's dog.

Inspector Gadget noticed the lifeboat, and turned his shop around to fetch the "man overboard". Just when he reached out his Gadget Arm to grab the Deck Hand, the dynamite exploded, taking out the lifeboat and the ship. When the dust settled, Gadget was now driving his peddling boat instead, with Brain hanging on to it. There was no sign left of the peg-legged Deck Hand.
