"Inspector Gadget is always on duty!"
The M.A.D. Taxi Driver is a character in Inspector Gadget. He appeared as a M.A.D. agent posing as a Taxi Driver on Everest Island in the South Pacific.
Routine[]
When Inspector Gadget, his niece Penny and their dog Brain arrived on Everest Island, the M.A.D. Taxi Driver was waiting for them. Spying on them with binoculars, he reported to Ricardo, the hotel manager of the M.A.D.'s High View hotel, who told him he knew what to do. As soon as Gadget held up his hand to call for a cab, the M.A.D. Taxi Driver rushed towards him, carried the Inspector's bags into his cab and said "At your service..." As he quickly drove them towards the peak of Everest Island, Penny wondered why the driver was wearing a parka. The climate soon changed from sunny to snowy. The Driver drove so fast and reckless, that all three of his passengers flew out of the car and landed in the snow. Noticing the hotel was near, Gadget decided to use his Gadget Skis and Gadget Wind Sail to travel the last part of the distance. But the Cab driver pushed a button on his dashboard which caused an avalanche. The cab driver reported to Ricardo that Gagdet wouldn't be checking in, but was then his car was hit by a giant ball of snow (caused by the avalanche) from above and Gadget arrived by Gadget 'Copter, carrying Penny and Brain. Ricardo told the cab driver he was an idiot for missing Gadget and then told Dr. Claw that he would elliminate Gadget himself.
The M.A.D. Taxi Driver got another chance to eliminate Gadget the next day. Again using binoculars to located Gadget, he reported to Ricardo by walkie talkie wand was told to eliminate the Gadget. Driving at the Inspector with great speed, Gadget managed to survive thanks to the intervention of Brain, disguised as another skier. The pair of them ended up on top a palm tree, but Gadget was still determined to get a taxi, and used his Gadget Brella to float do the ground. He landed on the side of the road, and the Cab driver stopped to let him enter his vehicle. Both were unaware that Brain landed on top of the car, having jumped from the palm tree. The driver pushed another button on his dashboard to have all of the windows in the back sealed and a larger window dividing the front from the back of the vehicle. When Gadget enquired if the driver was afraid of catching a cold, he replied "Right!". Once Gadget was secured, the driver let loose a sleeping gas in back cabin of his cab. Gadget began to get drowzy, but when Brain began to draw his attention, Gadget mistook the "skier's" hand signals as wanting an autograph. He called for his Gadget Pen, but the Gadget Mallet deployed instead, smaching through the window which seperated Gadget from the driver. Now the sleeping gas was affecting the driver, who fell asleep behind the wheel.
The cabbie woke up just in time (thanks to a little help from Brain) to avoid colliding with a large truck driven by M.A.D. Agents Abdul and Squirt, carrying the last shipment of explosives to the hotel. The cab flew off the road and ended up in another holiday resort on the island, crashing into the pool. At that point, Inspector Gadget awoke and told the driver that he hoped he was not expecting a tip. Gadget and the skier climbed out of the pool first, and when the cabbie wanted to exit, he was pushed back into the water by the skier.
