The Old Guard is a character in Inspector Gadget. He only appeared in Snakin' All Over.
Routine[]
While at the I Penny Mansion to guard a priceless coin collection worth millions, Gadget, while chasing Brain, mistaking him for a M.A.D agent as usual, comes across a reluctant 73 year old guard wielding a blunderbuss. After offering him his help, the old guard tells Gadget he doesn't need any "fancy city detective" to help him, and fires his blunderbuss afterwards, making Gadget scarce. Later on, after Gadget drops a coin from the coin collection, he alerts the old guard, of whom almost arrests him, thinking he is trying to steal the coin. Eventually, after coming across the real culprit who is trying to steal the coins, they both arrest him and become friends.
