Inspector Gadget Wiki

Professor Mongul is a character in Inspector Gadget.

Physical Description[]

Mongul is a middle-aged Tibetan man with a black Fu Manchu moustache. He wears Tibetan clothes consisting of a red hat, a black robe and red curved toe boots.

Personality[]

Mongul is a brilliant M.A.D. scientist. He is also malicious and cruel.

History[]

Professor Mongul developed a way to change the weather by using rare crystals that could only be found on the top of Mount Makalu, Tibet. He was still working on perfecting his weather machine at his home base when Dr. Claw began to threaten to bury Las Vegas in the snow with it in exchange for a substancial ransom.

After Agent Chameleon failed to get rid of Gadget, Claw contacted Mongul to tell him it was now up to him. Mongul simply pressed a remote to alert the guards. One of these guards grabbed Gadget and threw him in a pit. Another guard caught two other intruders, Penny and Tabu and they were put in a dungeon jail cell. Mongul watched the proceedings on a monitor and muttered "We've got you now, Gadget" to himself. He then pressed a button to start a mechanism whereby pointy spikes that were sticking out of the walls of the pit began to move towards Gadget. Jokingly, Mongul added "Goodbye Inspector Gadget, get the point?" and chuckled to himself. Gadget, who mistakingly thought he was in a hotel room used his Gadget Legs to propel himself out of there. He wanted to complain to the manager that the room they had given him had no doors.

Having returned to his weather machine, Mongul told an associate of his that they needed more crystals. They went to a secret safe filled with ice and crystals of all sizes, but were unaware that they were being spied on by Penny and Tabu, who had escaped from their cell. Mongul grabbed a large crystal, and told his assistant that he still had enough of them left to destroy Las Vegas. His next task was to get the storm going around said area. Suddenly, Tabu revealed himself to Mongul and his assistant. The professor was surprised that the boy had escaped the dungeon. Tabu told them to catch him if they could and the two men ran after him, leaving Penny to grab a piece of ice from the safe and switch it with the crystal in the machine. The machine began to malfunction. Dr. Claw saw everything from afar, and ordered Mongul to stop chasing the boy and take care of the machine.

Mongul returned to his machine and found a large block of ice in place of the crystal. Inspector Gadget arrived and assumed that Mongul was the manager of this 'hotel'. Realizing the machine was going to explode, Mongul made a run for it, but Gadget followed him, saying he had to listen to his complaint. The machine blew up. Gadget mistakingly thought it was the hotel's air conditioner. Dr. Claw escaped from the building using his M.A.D. Jet. What happened to Mongul has not been revealed.
