Inspector Gadget Wiki

Professor Musty is a Greek Mythology Museum Curator who appears in Inspector Gadget.

Physical Description[]

Musty is a middle-aged man with wild white hair and beard. He wears a white shirt under an orange jacket with matching trousers and brown shoes.

Personality[]

Musty takes his job seriously, but he doesn't tolerate his Greek artworks or artifacts destroyed by Gadget.

Routine[]

Musty oversaw the opening of a new museum on the Greek Island of Thermos that was dedicated to Greek mythology. When Inspector Gadget was tasked to protect the artifacts from being stolen by M.A.D., Musty agreed to meet the Inspector at a Greek harbor. The Gadgetmobile was attacked by the M.A.D. Mobile and ended up catapulting into the water. When Gadget stuck his Gadget Neck out of the water, he noticed Musty waiting for them, and the two of them greeted each other like old friends. Musty then announced that the final exhibit was finally ready to be transferred to the island: the Trojan horse. They were unaware that Dr. Daedalus and M.A.D. Agents Dick & Fred were hidden inside in order to sneak into the museum unnoticed.

Musty and Gadget took the Trojan Horse on a boat to Thermos, where the Professor typed in a secret code to enter. He ensured the Inspector that nothing could enter the island without their knowledge, unaware of the Agents hidden in the horse, nor did he notice that there were two stowaways on the boat: Penny and Brain. Once the final exhibit was in place, Musty offered to show the Inspector around. First, they visited a room dedicated to all the monsters of Greek mythology. Next, he showed off the mythological gardens, where Gadget was impressed by a giant statue of Zeus. He was less impressed by a statue of the winged horse Pegasus, which Gadget thought was quite a ridiculous idea. Gadget spotted a suspicious statue with a harmonica (actually Brain disguised as a faun carrying a pan flute). When Brain made a run for it, Gadget assumed it had been stolen and decided to look for it. An attempt on Gadget's life resulted in the statue of a horse dislodging from its chariot and being flung into the air. Gadget was surprised that flying horses did exist, but Musty was dismayed to see that the statue was heading right for Zeus, whose statue was broken into a million puzzle shaped pieces. Feeling that the museum would not be able to open without the statue of Zeus, Musty began repairing it at once, using a tube of superglue he had on hand.

Musty managed to repair the statue in time for the opening day, but Gadget and his dog crash-landed on top of it, causing it to break once again. Frustrated and angry, Professor Musty began shouting and punched the fallen head of Zeus, breaking it into even more small pieces.
