Ring Master

The Ring Master is one of Dr. Claw's field agents in Inspector Gadget.

He posed as the ringmaster of the circus visiting Metro City.

Personality[]

He has a very short temper with Gadget's bumbling and Brain's interference.

History[]

The Ring Master was the lead agent disguised as a circus perfomer, using the circus as a free-moving base to loot and steal. When Inspector Gadget decided to infiltrate the circus, the Ring Master immediately gave him a job as a circus clown, explaining that the man he was replacing had caught a cold. He then instructed the M.A.D. Clown to get rid of Gadget. After all of the Clowns attempts failed, an angry Dr. Claw contacted the Ring Master by computer. The Ring Master suggested to have Gadget perform an act as a lion tamer next, and introduced him as "The Great Gizmo".

When Penny suggested to her uncle that the Ring Master might be a M.A.D. Agent, Gadget told her that the Ring Master was not one of his two suspects, because he was a 'nice man'. Gadget then asked the Ring Master for another job, and was told he could join the trapeze act, as one member of the Flying Zuchini's had come down with 'a little cold'. The Ring Master introduced the Zuchini's as the greatest death defying trapeze artists in the world. When Gadget's gadgets managed to get him through the act unscathed, the Ring Master decided to remove the safety net from the circus piste and announced that the Zuchini's would attempt a triple loup-de-loup without a net.

After failing three times, Claw gave the Ring Master one final chance to dispose of Gadget. He introduced Gadget as "Mr. Indestructable, the greatest stuntman in the world". He ordered Gadget to jump from the very top of the tent into a tub of water, then to do a double backflip (with help from the M.A.D. Clown) into a barrel, which was then revealed to be part of a large cannon. Gadget was to be shot at a paper target that was obscuring a brick wall. The Ring Master personally trapped Brain in a barrel and sat down on it so the dog could not escape. Gadget's niece used her watch to change the trajectory of the cannon at the last moment. Enraged, the Ring Master snapped his batton in half and ordered the M.A.D. Clown to go after Gadget and not to let him get away as Gadget was shot ouf of the tent. But once outside, both the Ring Master and the Clown found themselves caught in a net that had inadvertently gotten tangled in Gadget's 'copter. They also found themselves surrounded by Chief Quimby's policemen and were taken into custody.
