cousin claim[]

No evidence is provided that he and Talon are cousins. There are serious problems with this claim.

Firstly, Claw said Talon is his "only nephew" which could mean that Talon is simply Billy with his name changed. Unless of course Billy died in which case he could have meant Talon is his only surviving nephew.

Another problem is: having the same uncle does not mean you are cousins. I'll explain why.

An uncle is a brother of one of your parents.

The term uncle can be used to refer to half-brothers of parents. The more specific term would be "half-uncle" in that case. But out of respect, things like that are often dropped. Many people IRL refer to half-brothers as just 'brother' for example, or to stepdads as simply 'dad', so the lack of a prefix does not discount the possibility.

So if Dr. Claw had two half-siblings:

  • one might be a maternal half-sibling because they share the same mother
  • one might be a paternal half-sibling because they share the same father

In both cases, those half-siblings would consider Dr. Claw as their uncle, but they needn't be related to each other in the slightest.

Billy's father is Dr. Thaw but we do not know if he is a 100% brother to Dr. Claw or merely a half-brother. The implication appears to be that Dr. Claw's mother is Billy's grandmother, but that supports Claw and Thaw being cosanguine (sharing the same mother) not that they share the same father too.

If Dr. Thaw has a different dad (which the different surname DOES kinda of imply) then Talon might be the son of a second sibling of Dr. Claw's who shares the same father but not the same mother.

If that was the case, Talon and William would not be related. Talon also referring to Dr. Claw's mother as grandma could simply be due to her adopting her husband's offspring as her own even if it was by another woman. This happened with John Snow in Game of Thrones, for example. talk2ty 19:26, April 10, 2018 (UTC)
