Routine[]
The Quiz Master hosted Metro City's favorite game show, also called Quiz Master, in which members of the audience would dress up in outlandish costumes in order to be picked to take part in the show and win fabulous prizes. The entire show was a M.A.D. operation, in which the contestants were hypnotises inside the Cone of Seclusion, and given the trigger words "Going my way?" to make them commit robberies.
Joe Noodle was the latest grand prize winner, as well as Claw's newest victim. Working at a gas station, he was told to rob an armored car as it passed through the his workplace. During shows, the Quiz Master carried sacks of money from the previous robbery into his dressing room and conversed with Dr. Claw by video phone. He then took a pink van to pick up the money from the armored car stolen by Noodle, using the trigger words to instruct him. Learning about Joe Noodle's arrest on a TV News flash, Penny went to the Quiz Master Studio to investigate. She tapped into the Metro City police computer with her computer book and realized that all the grand prize winners were the same people behind the recent armed car robberies. Watching the Quiz Master on stage, she learned that he could fix the grand prize winners by pushing a button hidden in the stage floor.
Soon, it was time for another live show, and Inspector Gadget entered the studio, having chased a suspect (Brain in disguise into the building. Claw noticed his nemessis taking a seat in the audience. After two failed attempts on his life, Claw decided to put Gadget on the show and make him the next Grand Prize winner. The Quiz master announced that "the man dressed as the police inspector" would be the next contestant. Gadget used his Gadget Legs to jump onto the stage, dislodging a plank which catapulted the Quiz Master into the air. He was caught by Gadget and both acted as if it was all part of the show. Gadget was then told take a seat in the Chair of Champions and was asked which was heavier: one pound of feathers or one ton of feathers. Next, Gadget got to choose one of the Three Doors of Decision. He chose number four, then changed his mind to number two, and the Quiz master pushed the hidden button in the floor. The Inspector won a Super Duper Deluxe Toaster, which was just what he needed. When the game's announcer, "Bob" explained the prize, Gadget thought the voice sounded familiar.
Satisfied with his prize, Gadget declined to go into the Cone of Seclusion for the Grand Prize. Besides, he also had a police assignment to complete. The Quiz Master was flabbergasted when Gadget walked off stage. But, thinking it was the exit, Gadget entered the cone by mistake and the Quiz Master triumphantly exclaimed "He changes his mind, what a sport, right folks?" Inside, Gadget was hypnotised by Claw, but left the cone prematurely. When he told the Quiz master he really didn't have much time, the audience began to boo at him. Quiz Master quickly decided to ask the Inspector a simple question: "What is your correct name?" Gadget answered correctly, and was named the Grand Prize winner. Gadget left, using his legs to jump onto the stairs between the audience, and causing a plank to raise up and hit the Quiz Master in his face. He then told the audience at home to make sure and tune in for the next Quiz Master show.
Driving a pink limousine, the Quiz Master caught up with Gadget on the street, used the trigger words "Going my way" and instructed him to rob the armored car comming down the street in one minute. Gadget did as he was told and, like the other hypnotised winners before him, stole the entire armored car. Quiz Master drove up to him again for more instructions: to take the money to the TV Studio. The Quiz Master arrived at the studio first, and waited for Gadget, who crashed the armored car through a wall into the studio. Once again using the trigger words, the Quiz Master told the Inspector to take all the money into the back room. Claw told the Quiz Master to let Gadget go so that the police could arrest him. But Brain, disguised as a bag of money, lured Gadget back into the Cone of Seclusion, where Penny reversed the hypnotism. When he exited, the Quiz Master was surprised to find the trigger words no longer worked, Assuming the cone had malfunctioned, he glanced into the Cone and was pushed in by Brain. Inside, Penny hypnotised the Quiz Master and told him to return all the money. He began to fill the armored truck up with all the stolen money, and then Gadget inadvertedly used the trigger words on the Quiz Master, telling him to drop him off at Police Headquarters. Still under hypnosis, the Quiz Master was arrested for his crimes at the station.
Personality[]
The Quiz Master is a crafty and dishonest game show host. He enjoys hypnotising contestants to do Dr. Claw's dirty work for him.
Physical Description[]
The Quiz Master is a thin man with black hair and a thin pointy nose. He wears a white shirt and black bow tie under a red suit jacket, white gloves, orange trousers and black shoes.
