History[]
The Warden was seated outside his cabin in the Rocky Mountains when Inspector Gadget, Penny and Brain arrived, looking for a lost seismologist. He inquired if they had come to do some fishing, but when Gadget told him about his Top-Secret mission, the warden went inside his cabin to fetch some supplies. These consisted of: a broken rope, the wrong map and some dynamite firelogs. He helped Gadget put on the knapsack he had prepared and reported back to Dr. Claw. Penny and Brain stayed with the Warden in his cabin, but, being concerned, Penny sent Brain after her uncle.
When Gadget used the rope to climb down a mountain, it soon snapped and he began to fall. The Warden was nearby, watching the proceedings by binoculars. He giggled as he greatly enjoyed seeing the Inspector plummet to his death, but was stomped on the ground with annoyance when a pink bear (Brain in disguise) saved the Inspector's life by grabbing on to his Gadget Lasso. Next, Gadget attempted to use the dynamite the Warden had provided as firelogs by rubbing them together vigorously. The Warden watched this from behind a rock, laughing. Gadget was catapulted into the air as the dynamite exploded, and the Warden reported back to Claw, saying "If that isn't the end of Gadget, I'll eat my hat."
Brain reported back to Penny, and the Warden chimed in, explaining that no man could survive such a fall, but at that moment, the Inspector arrived back at the cabin, carrying lots of trout he had caught in the river. The Warden took a big bite out of his hat, then told Gadget to seek out the Old Prospector who lived nearby, and knew the area like the back of his hand. After the Inspector had left, the Warden reported to Claw that nobody had ever returned from visiting the Old Prospector.
A short while later, Penny noticed the Warden pushing a yellow machine on wheels inside a rocky mountain. He had been ordered to test it by Dr. Claw. Hoever, the Warden was not involved in the actual testing, leaving M.A.D. Agents Lenny and Fred to look after the kidnapped seismologist.
