History[]

The O'Shea Brothers were instrumental in removing Ireland's national treasure, the Blarney stone, from Castle Blarney using a catapult. Dr. Claw intended to get a high price in ransom for the stone. When Inspector Gadget travelled to Ireland to investigate, Wrong Way O'Shea told Claw he would take care of Gadget, "Irish style"

The two brothers met the Gadget Van on the road, driving their own truck. Wrong Way was in the drivers seat while his brother was seated in the back of the truck surrounded by barrels. Their truck took up the whole road, but Wrong Way gave a hand signal allowing Gadget to pass. However, they were about to come to a bridge and the Gadget Van was being forced into the river. Luckily the vehicle came equiped with it's own gadgets, and managed to cross the river by extending it's wheels on stilts. The second bother then lit a stick of dynamite, stuck it in a hole in a barrel and threw it at Gadget's car, which had converted into the Gadgetmobile. However, Inspector Gadget caught the barrel and returned it to it's place of origin, twice. Wrong Way increased the speed of their truck, but his brother noticed the return of the dynamite barrel too late, and their vehicle exploded while passing under a bridge.

A short while later, Gadget, his niece Penny and their dog Brain stopped at the ruins of an old church, where the O'Shea brother were already waiting for them. Wrong Way O'Shea attracted Gadget's attention by whistling and inquired if he could be of any help. Gadget asked for direction to County Cork, where the Blarney stone used to be, only to be answered by the other O'Shea brother, who made it clear that he had recognized Gadget and knew his name. The first brother then told Gadget to take the road over a nearby bridge and identified himself as "Wrong Way" O'Shea. The two of them had already rigged the bridge with dynamite, and used it destroy a portion in the middle of the bridge. Gadget tumbled out of his car and into the river, leaving the two brothers danced with delight.

Gadget survived and made it to a local pub where he and his family took a room for the night. When a sleepy Gadget had dificulty hanging his trenchcoat in the closet, Wrong Way O'Shea, who was hiding inside, grabbed it for him. Gadget, though very drowsy, still thanked his unseen helper. The Inspector fell fast asleep, after which Wrong Way jumped out of the closed and onto the bed, carrying a large wooden club above his head. He was about to clobber the sleeping Inspector when Brain entered the room. Wrong Way jumped off the bed at the same time Brain jumped onto it, waking Gadget and almost getting strangled for his efforts. But Brain managed to point out Wrong Way as he escaped out the window. Assuming him to be a prowler, Inspector Gadget extended his Gadget Neck and stuck his head out the window. He would have been clobbered this time if he hadn't retracted his neck back inside to fetch his lucky four leaf clover. Gadget climbed onto the roof, chasing Wrong Way as he sped over several rooftops, laughing all the way. Gadget cornered Wrong Way and told him to give himself up. But O'Shea nonchalantly leant against a chimney eating a banana. He threw away the peel, causing Gadget to slip on it and fall off the roof. Wrong Way laughed loudly, but Gadget activate the spring in his gadget hat (worn beneath a night cap) and bounced right back to his original position. At that moment, the other O'Shea brother popped up out of a chimney behind Gadget, brandishing the same club that Wrong Way had used earlier. But he was distracted by Brain, who had also climbed onto the roof, and ducked back inside the chimney. Wrong Way then made a run for it, and when Gadget tried to go after him, he fell through the roof, landing onto a bed.

The next day, Claw contacted the O'Sheas in their Celtic ruins hideout. There they were surrounded by piles of money and were about to unpack a large laser gun from a crate. He ordered a progress report concerning Gadget, and Wrong Way began to blame his brother, who countered that it was all Wrong Way's fault. Claw insisted that they got rid of Gadget and set up the laser to cut the Blarney stone into smaller pieces to be sent to Claw. The other brother reminded Claw that they had already collected a king's ransom for the stone, but Claw wanted to make even more money by selling the Blarney in tiny pieces. He told them that one of them should collect the trinkets while the other got Gadget.

Penny deduced that the Blarney stone had been catapulted from the castle to the nearby Celtic ruins. While investigating, she found Wrong Way O'Shea sitting on a chest enjoying "all the gold in Ireland" which had been handed over as a ransom. He then reported to Claw that the laser cannon was all set up and was told to begin cutting the stone into little pieces, and that Claw would come to pick them up personaly. Wrong Way noticed Penny as she was using her computer watch, but she shoved him in the face, knocking him backwards so she could escape. She ran right into a pit, and a laughing Wrong Way looked down on her and threatened taht she would have to stay there for the rest of her life.

When his brother used a walkie-talkie to inform Wrong Way that Gadget was being led towards the Celtic ruins, Wrong Way prepped the laser cannon and soon had the inspector in his sights. But when he tried to fire the laser, nothing happened. Wrong Way angrilly kicked at the machine, causing it to turn around and knock him off a stone ledge. When Gadget got closer, Wrong Way positioned himself on top of one of the domed ruins and used a large stick to drop a slab of stone on Gadget. Gadget managed to evade it, once again thanking his lucky four leaf clover.

Wrong Way returned to work on the laser. When his brother arrived and asked if it was working yet, Wrong Way fired a shot that knocked his brother over, and elatedly shouted "it works!" with no concern for his brother's safety. At that moment Dr. Claw contacted the brothers again and reminded them that the stone should be cut into tiny pieces by the time he arrived. The other O'Shea brother insured him it would be ready in time, then told Wrong Way to cut the stone. Inspector Gadget arrived on the scene and asked if the brothers had seen a suspect he was chasing, then inquired about the laser cannon. The dark suited brother told Gadget it was a camera and Wrong Way asked The Inspector if he would like his picture taken. Gadget agreed and took out his four leaf clover. But he couldn't decide on exactly where to stand, and the two brothers were soon annoyed at being unable to aim their laser on the ever moving Inspector. When they finally had him in their sights, Brain intervened by pushing Gadget out of the way of certain desintigration.

Wrong way accused his brother of missing the shot, while the other O'Shea honestly replied that Gadget had moved instead. Penny then took control of the laser cannon using her computer book. She made it spin round at great speed, and the two brothers were caught up in it's rotation, then catapulted onto a large stone slab. They were dismayed to find the cannon now aming straight at them and ducked. But the cannon shot a laser at the slab, causing it to fall forward, pinning the brothers to the ground. Chief Quimby and the Blarney Castle's caretaker arrived on the scene, congratulating Gadget on a case well done, assuming that Gadget had captured the M.A.D. agents.
